Michael Sutherland

Michael Sutherland is a research intern working for Drs. Charles Raison and Matthew Banks. He received a bachelor’s degree in Neurobiology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2024. Michael has 4 years of experience collecting and analyzing scalp and intracranial EEG data, and 1 year of experience with TMS-EEG collection and analysis. Michael also aids in other aspects of clinical studies including study coordination and participant interaction. Michael is interested in utilizing spontaneous and perturbational neural data methods to study the mechanisms of psychedelic drugs, neural excitability, plasticity, sleep, anesthetics, and most importantly, consciousness. Michael intends to pursue a PhD in neuroscience and will be applying to programs fall of 2025.
